THE APPLE OF THE ROCKET BUSINESS--SPACE X
the founder, CEO, and CTO of SpaceX, co-founder, CEO, and product architect of Tesla, co-founder and chairman of the Solar city,; co-chairman of Open al, co-founder of Zip2; and founder of X.com which merged with PayPal. isn't he great?
Space X became the first privately funded group to put a payload into earth orbit in 2008.since then,
the company has disrupted the global launch industry for years and quietly one of the coolest company today.
Space X never failed to impress, launching unmanned cargo vehicle to the International Space Station(ISS) and winning a contract with NASA to fly astronauts as well by 2017.
so what makes SpaceX unique or different from others?
Space X banged the world's headlines in 2010 when it became the first private company to put a payload into orbit and return it to Earth intact- something only Government agencies like NASA or Roscosmos had done before.
So here are 5 things you probably didn't know about SpaceX:-
- The Falcon 9 is named after the millennium falcon from STAR WARS. The 9 denotes the number of rocket engines a rocket has.
2, SpaceX has a program to build 4425 Broadband satellites to enable global internet access in future to come. it will bring the whole of Earth online.
3, They went bankrupted.they almost ran out of money, SpaceX first rocket, the falcon 1, failed to reach orbit in 3 out of 5 attempts made.they succeeded in 4th attempt launch but they came very close to running out of cash.Elon musk told a divorce court in February 2011 that he was out of cash and has resorted to borrowing from friends to cover monthly household expense which exceeds $90000.
4. Dragon's SpaceX capsules spacecraft carried a wheel of cheese on its first test flight as an homage to MONTY PYTHON'S FLYING CIRCUS
5. SpaceX mission control: SpaceX headquarters in Hawthorne, California has a famous kitchen.you know the area next to the kitchen where people gossips.at SpaceX, they use that area for launching rockets.the SpaceX facility is sprawling, a one-floor industrial plant that was originally a factory for Boeing's aircraft fuselage.SpaceX took it over and repurposed into an all in one spaceport.no one at SpaceX including Elon musk has an office with doors.adjacant to that is the factory floor and the kitchen and adjacent to that behind a high glass wall is mission control.workers gather to watch launches and recoveries and then go back to their computer's desk.
